(ff) Flowers Foods reports sales of 477,8 million USD for its twelve-week second quarter ended on July 14 – a 7,2 percent increase over the 445,8 million USD reported for the second quarter last year. Net income of 22,2 million USD or 0,24 USD per diluted share was reported, an increase of 12,5 percent compared to the 19,7 million USD or 0,21 USD per diluted share reported for the second quarter of fiscal 2006.
Sales for the 28-week period ended July 14 were 1,088 billion USD – a 7,8 percent increase over the 1,009 billion USD reported for the comparable 28-week period last year. Net income for the 28-week period was 50,7 million USD or 0,55 USD per diluted share – an increase of 18,9 percent over the 42,6 million USD or 0,46 USD per diluted share, reported for the comparable period in 2006. Income from continuing operations before cumulative effect of a change in accounting principle for the 28-week period was 50,7 million USD or 0,55 USD per diluted share, an increase of 20,7 percent compared to the 42,0 million USD or 0,45 USD per diluted share reported for the same period in 2006.
All per share data has been adjusted to reflect the company´s 3-for-2 stock split, which was effective June 29, 2007 press release.
