Cerealto: acquires biscuits factory in Mexico

Madrid / ES. (ce) Cerealto, independent member of Spain’s Grupo Siro, has reached a collaboration agreement with Marian, through which Cerealto will continue the manufacturing of Marian’s product range, while bringing innovation. On the other hand, Marian will be focused on the sales and broadening of its product range.

Cerealto, global food manufacturer, formalised the deed of sale with Mexico’s Marian Galletas de Calidad to acquire its biscuit factory located in the town of Tepeji del Río Ocampo, State of Hidalgo. The commercial and labour agreement, involving both companies and the labour union, was signed on October 01, 2015.

Cerealto stated that this agreement contributes to achieving its expansion objectives in the American market. The main aim of the deed of sale was to ensure the business viability and the long-term sustainability of the manufacturing facility, and to meet the needs of client Marian.

On the other hand, the Latin American Market Director of Cerealto, Bruno Del Rio, claimed that «we will continue producing Marian biscuits from the Tepeji factory as today, and we will be able to serve other clients in Mexico and the United States. In this first phase, we will work to optimise processes, facilitate the transfer of production and investment and strengthen teams with a particular emphasis on quality, food safety and R+D».

The Tepeji factory, specialised in high quality biscuit and assortment production, has a staff of 236 employees. Cerealto has hired them acknowledging their seniority and previously acquired rights, in the context of a transparent operation and in accordance with the Mexican labour law (Image: Cerealto).
