London / UK. (pfl) Pladis Foods Limited, wholly owned subsidiary of Türkiye’s Yildiz Holding, announced that Cief Executive Cem Karakaş has decided to step down from his role with immediate effect. He will take a leave of absence from his role as deputy chairman of parent company Yildiz Holding, for family health reasons. He will be retained as an advisor to the United Biscuits UK Board. Jim Zaza, Pladis Senior Board Member and Chairman of United Biscuits UK, will step into the role of Interim Pladis CEO. Jim Zaza has been an executive on the Pladis board since its inception. He has previously held senior executive positions at PepsiCo, Black and Decker and Eastman Kodak. The Board has commenced a formal search and selection process to identify a new CEO. Yildiz Holding formed Pladis in June 2016 to manage its core biscuit, chocolate, and confectionery businesses Godiva Chocolatier, United Biscuits, Ulker and DeMet’s Candy Company under one roof.
