Barcelona / ES. (ep) Europastry S.A., the national leader in Spain and fifth worldwide player in the frozen dough industry, has completed its purchase of Confeitaria Torres, a Portuguese company specialising in fresh and deep-frozen bakery and pastry products. The bakery company, based in Trofa near Porto, has built a reputation as one of the highest quality producers in Portugal.
With the acquisition of this family business, Europastry adds another craft baker to its production capacity, further consolidating its range of high quality traditional products.
Specialising in the manufacture of traditional local products such as the brioche croissant, the brioche, the Bolo de Rei or the Pan Deus, Confeitaria Torres stands out, like Europastry, for the marriage of innovation and tradition, especially evident in the company’s family origins.
The move further extends Europastry’s presence in the Portuguese market, adding to its existing operation in Carregado, with a portfolio of high value-added regional and international products ready to delight Confeitaria Torres’s existing patrons and Europastry’s other customers.
This acquisition confirms Europastry’s ambition to internationalise its business, while remaining true to its core values: quality, innovation, productivity and international growth.
