Ukraine: to export 15 to 18 million tonnes of grains

Kiev / UA. (ami) Ivan Tomich, the president of the association of farmers and private landowners of Ukraine, forecasted the export volumes of Ukrainian grains in 2009 to 2010 marketing year at the level of 15 to 18 million tons. According to Tomich, grain storing capacities in Ukraine total nearly 35 million tonnes. The president of the association marked that Ukraine had already harvested 18 million tonnes of grains (54 percent of sowing areas). The final harvest will total nearly 40 million tonnes, according to him. Besides, to date the minimum purchasing prices for feed grains total nearly 650 UAH per tonne, marked Tomich. He hopes that the prices will reach the level of 850 to 900 UAH per tonne in two months.
