Britannia: Net profit increases 17,5 percent in Q2/2009

Mumbai / IN. (bi) Britannia Industries Limited, India´s leading Food Company, reported sales of 7’312 million INR for the quarter ended 30th June 2009, a growth of 5,5 percent and Net profit of 474 million INR, an increase of 17,5 percent. Consolidated Revenue of 8’211 million INR and Net Profit of 448 million INR grew by nine percent and 33 percent respectively. Vinita Bali, Managing Director: «In an intensely competitive market, we significantly increased our investment behind brands and maintained operating margin. Invigorated focus on working capital management also contributed to cash from operations of over 1’750 million INR during the quarter».
