Fazer Group: Kaukonen leads new business area

Helsinki / FI. (fg) Fazer Group´s business is developing and becoming more efficient and, consequently, the organisation will be renewed. The Group´s Executive Vice President Harri-Pekka Kaukonen has been nominated director of the new bakery and confectionery business area. Signifying the growth of the company, Fazer Group consists of four divisions. Three of them – Fazer Bakeries, Fazer Confectionery and Fazer Russia – will be combined into one single bakery and confectionery business area. Fazer Amica will continue in the food service business as a separate business area. Kaukonen (46), Doctor of Technology, has been nominated director of the new bakery and confectionery business area. The nomination will become effective as of 01 January 2010. Kaukonen will continue as Executive Vice President of Fazer Group and for the time being also as Managing Director of Fazer Russia. Kaukonen joined Fazer in 2003 as CFO. Before that, he worked as partner at McKinsey + Company. Iris Karjula will continue to be responsible for Fazer Amica´s operations. Both Kaukonen and Karjula will continue to be members of the Group Management Team, and they will report to Group President Karsten Slotte.
