Bielefeld / DE. (eb) Through its subsidiary Dr. Oetker (UK) Limited in Leeds, Dr. August Oetker KG has acquired Cake Craft World Limited (CCW) in Sevenoaks District of Kent.
CCW was founded in 1979 as a small delicatessen shop. Later the family business switched to classic confectionery and the sale of decorative articles for cakes and tarts. In 2004 CCW changed its business model by setting up an online shop for decorative articles and quickly focused on the mail order business. Today, CCW resides on 9,000 square feet or 840 square meters of warehouse space, has approximately 9,000 products in its online shop and can count on a team of 30 employees. CCW maintains an extensive and growing customer base and ships parcels to households as well as businesses in the UK and Europe.
The managing directors of Dr. Oetker (UK), Dr. Johannes Rosenthal and Georg Heerdegen Parsbo, are delighted to be able to invest in the successful, specialised bakery business with its leading online presence, that serves hobby and semi-professional bakers alike. «Our vision is to work with the current management team to promote and enable Cake Craft World’s sustainable growth and develop its unique and trustworthy identity.
«Dr. Oetker can learn from CCW. We want to become more agile, especially when it comes to identifying the latest trends and techniques. By sharing knowledge and experience, we want to create more and more cake moments for more and more consumers, in line with our strategy.»
Linda Glaysher, founder and managing director of Cake Craft World, adds: «We are a company that has been passionate about baking for over 30 years. Dr. Oetker’s support will enable us to develop and grow dynamically. We will be even better at identifying and developing baking trends, sourcing and delivering the latest products and brands, and presenting the latest techniques – producing even more premium content for our loyal base of bakers.»
