Minsk / BY. (belta) The Confederation of Italian Confectioners is going to manufacture pastry in Belarus. The presentation of the project took place in Minsk in mid-March under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in Belarus, BelTA has learnt. Representatives of the Belarusian confectionaries were invited to the meeting.
Renato Cucinotta, Confederation of Italian Confectioners´ Envoy in Eastern Europe, owner of the Cucinotta Group company in Belarus, presented a new confectionary manufacturing concept to Belarus. The joint project envisages the production of Italian cakes and biscuits using the Belarusian raw material and capacities.
«The demand for them in Belarus is high enough. Having spent a year in Minsk I have come up with an idea to produce these products in Belarus using domestic raw materials. The Belarusian milk, sugar, eggs and flour will account for up to 70 percent of the ingredients. Your country has good conditions for the implementation of the project: confectionary shops and bakeries are equipped with modern technological lines including the Italian ones. The most important thing is that you have highly-qualified specialists», Renato Cucinotta said.
The presentation also displayed a wider range of renowned Italian confectionary and pastry. Vice President of the Confederation of Italian Confectioners Paolo Caridi gave a master-class to the Belarusian specialists. Special attention was paid to the use of cheap domestic ingredients in the manufacturing process as the major goal of the project is «to expand the assortment and improve the manufacturing process in order to reduce the import of confectionary products».
Renato Cucinotta stressed, «today Belarus and Italy are looking for the ways out of the crisis, and it will be much easier to do it jointly. Our project is aimed at mutual profit from the joint activity». (source: BelTA).
