Moscow / RU. (ami) Sergey Levin, General Director of OJSC United Grain Company, declared that in order to strengthen the Russian grain positions, it is necessary to work out the projects of the port elevators building at the territory of the following countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia – the main buyers of Russian grains – and at the territory of the potential markets like Indonesia. Levin also noticed that in order to increase the export volumes of Russian grains, first of all, it is necessary to develop the port loading capacities by increasing their cargo flow capacities in the Black Azov Sea basin by ten to twelve million tonnes; in the Far-East region by four to five million tonnes; in the Baltic Sea basin by three million tonnes. According to the General Director of United Grain Company, the realization of the investment projects in the ports of Far-East and the Baltic Sea regions will create the required conditions for increasing of the export volumes and development of the new way of Russian grain export supplies, will open the new sale markets in the Asian – the Pacific Ocean regions and in the South America.
Russia started harvesting campaign
Russia started the harvesting campaign of grains, declared the press-cutting service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. Agricultural enterprises of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts started harvesting works earlier by seven to ten days compared to the previous year rates, and started harvesting winter barley sowings, announced Elena Skrynnik, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia (source: agrimarket.info).
