Scotland: Bakers appoint new chief executive

Edinburgh / UK. (sb) Scottish Bakers announced it has appointed a new chief executive. Alan Clarke joins Scottish Bakers from Lifelong Learning UK, the independent employer-led sector skills council responsible for the professional development of staff working in the UK. Scottish Bakers has over 500 members organised into a network of six regional branches. Each member is able to access a wide range of professional services and benefits. Approximately 12,500 people are employed in the craft bakery industry in Scotland. Reviewing training provision within the sector will be of the key tasks for the new chief executive, who will be based at the association’s head office in Edinburgh.
