Heathrow / UK. (eb) In the High Court of Justice, Business and Property Courts Adelie Foods Limited (CR-2020-002585), Adelie Holdco UK Limited (CR-2020-002588), Brambles Foods Group Limited (CR-2020-002589), Adelie Foods Group Limited (CR-2020-002587) and Adelie Foods Bidco Limited (CR-2020-002586) – together «Adelie Foods» – have filed for administration on 26 May 2020. Appointed administrators are Robert James Harding and Richard Michael Hawes, both of Deloitte LLP in London.
Adelie Foods is one of the United Kingdom’s leading «Food to Go» businesses supplying a wide range of customers in the retail, coffee shop, travel and contract catering sectors with a range of high quality, innovative chilled food products. Adelie in 2015 employed around 2,800 colleagues across six manufacturing and eight distribution locations around the country. In addition to its portfolio of private label products, Adelie also owns the UK’s biggest sandwich brand, «URBAN eat», which stocked in over 6’000 outlets nationwide – according to H.I.G. Capital LLC in 2015.
To check this information is not possible at the moment. Adelie’s web site is currently down. According to other sources Adelie today counts three manufacturing and five distribution locations. At the time of the administrators’ appointment the Group employed around 2’200 people. Covid-19 will have a dramatic impact on Adelie’s situation. But on the other hand in 2018 the Group made 54 million GBP loss before tax.
The last information is that the nearly 2’200 employees have been made redundant after Deloitte’s administrators Harding and Hawes were unable to secure a sale for the business. All operations now were halted respective stopped, closed.
