Ülker Bisküvi: announces H1-2024 financial results

Istanbul / TR. (ubs) Ülker Bisküvi Sanayi A.Ş. (UBS), Türkiye’s leading food company, closed the first half of 2024 with a sales revenue of 36.6 billion TRY (971,22 million EUR). The share of its Turkiye’s operations in the sales revenue was 69 percent, while the share of exports and international operations was 31 percent.

In a statement sent to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Ülker Bisküvi, a subsidiary of Pladis Foods Limited, announced that its sales revenue for the first half of the year was 36.6 billion TRY (971,22 million EUR on 2024/08/31 according to Interbank course). The share of its Turkiye’s operations in the sales revenue was 69 percent, while the share of exports and international operations was 31 percent.

Expressing that the company continues to grow, Mete Buyurgan continued: «Celebrating its 80th year, as Turkiye’s leading food company, we successfully completed the first half of the year as we had aimed. The significant development of this period was Ülker’s first sustainability-linked bond issuance of 2024, worth 550 million USD, with participation from more than 100 international investors from 20 countries. We carried out this bond issuance with the confidence in our country and our company. While providing added value to our country and being a strong player in our region, Leadership in the biscuit market continues in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The strong growth trend persists in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries.»

The company is placing significant emphasis on sustainability efforts in every field to leave a livable world for future generations. With the 50 double-decker trucks Ülker has added to its fleet, the company will travel 5.4 million kilometres less per year, reducing carbon emissions by 5,000 tons. Ülker focuses on local agriculture, local development, and farmer welfare, working together with its farmers to promote regenerative and sustainable farming practices. The company has initiated efforts in the Kırıkkale and Çorum regions. Ülker is aiming to implement regenerative farming practices on 10,000 decares of land by 2030. With its R+D centers; the company is implementing projects that will create value for its activities and the sector in collaboration with domestic and international universities and research centers. These efforts also contribute to the development of innovative, sector-differentiating products. In the first six months of the year, Ülker has introduced 17 new products to its consumers, and over the last five years, the company has launched more than 220 new products. Ülker Bisküvi is demonstrating successful performance in the categories the company is in.
