Parma / IT. (bg) The world´s biggest pasta maker Barilla Group wants to sell its Kamps Bakeries unit after deciding the German chain is no longer a core part of its baking business. In a press release the Italian holding says, it has mandated Lincoln International Investment Bank in Frankfurt/Main to sell Kamps Bakeries GmbH, which has a network of around 1.000 shops and operates five production sites. Kamps Bakeries employs around 1.200 people and reported 208 million Euro in revenue last year. The move does not involve the bread making unit Kamps Brot und Backwaren GmBH with its brands Golden Toast and Lieken Urkorn, Robert Singer, chief executive of Barilla Holding, says in the statement. The Parma-based Barilla Holding is targeting institutional investors for the sale – Financial Times Germany reported two weeks ago, citing people familiar with the matter. Düsseldorf-based Kamps AG was founded by Heiner Kamps 1997.
