Ukraine: to take leading positions among grain exporters

Kiev / UA. (ami) Due to high level of grain harvest in the new season, Ukraine will again work to take one of the leading positions among the world grain exporters. According to the Ukrainian Grain Association, Ukraine will export nearly seven to eight million tonnes of wheat this season. But APK-Inform forecast the export volume of wheat at level of seven million tonnes due to high wheat harvest in the world, rise of wheat offers and the level of demand for Ukrainian feed wheat.

You can discuss prospects of grain export from Ukraine, make contacts with Ukrainian grain growers and traders during the Seventh International Conference «Grain Industry 2008: market, investments, infrastructure» (October 2-3, Kiev, «Expocentre of Ukraine» National Complex). To date, nearly 50 companies from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Türkiye, Pakistan will take part in the conference.

Leading Ukrainian companies are among the participants:

PRIVAT trading firm – one of the largest Ukrainian exporters of grain and oilseeds. Since the beginning of the new MY, the company exported nearly 50’000 tonnes of grain. In 2008/2009 MY, the company plans to export 1,2 million tonnes of agricultural crops – wheat, maize, barley, rapeseed, sunflower. Türkiye and Poland are the main importers of the company.

Germes-Trading – the agricultural holding, which owns several elevators and deals with grain and oilseed trade. The company exports wheat, maize, barley, rapeseed, sunflower, soybean, peas. Germes exports agricultural crops via the Black Sea ports and on DAF terms Russia, Belarus, Poland, the Baltic countries. During the new season, the company exported 50’000 tonnes and plans to export nearly 200’000 tonnes in 2008/2009 MY.

Loture Corporation is the managing company of the group of large-scale enterprises, which work in such market segments of Ukraine as agricultural production, trade, storing and processing of grain, bakery industry and logistics. In 2008/2009 MY, the company plans to harvest nearly 200’000 tonnes of grain and oilseeds and export 600’000 tonnes from Ukraine (source).
