Brossard: to sell frozen food activities to Alfesca

Neubourg / FR. (div) French bakery group Brossard S.A. has entered into exclusive negotiations with Icelandic seafood group Alfesca over the sale of its frozen food business for an undisclosed amount. Brossard´s frozen foods are manufactured in Castelsarrasin and in Neubourg, Brossard says in a news release. Further to the divesment, Brossard will concentrate on its cake and biscuit-making activities, Brossard´s CEO Guy Schumacher says in the release.

Brossard SA designs and manufactures frozen specialty and non-refrigerated pastry products. It has four production sites specializing in specific product areas. The Company operates four production sites, including the Neubourg site, which manufactures products based on puff pastry, such as pies, cakes and other related products; the Manosque site, which provides pizzas cooked over a wood fire; the Castelsarrasin site, which produces savory pastries and light snacks; the Pithiviers site, which manufactures non-refrigerated products such as cakes and brownies. The Company operates one subsidiary Saveurs de France Brossard SA, through which it controls four other companies.

Reykjavík-based Alfesca is a leading European producer and supplier of convenience, fine-seafood and premium products to retailers and food-service providers. The Group´s activity is organised around four pillars: (1) smoked salmon and fish, (2) foie gras and duck products, (3) prawns and shellfish and (4) blinis and spreads.
