Mumbai / IN. (tet) According to a report in The Economic Times, US-based Focus Brands Inc. (Atlanta, Georgia) will tie up with Mumbai-based Wadhawan Hospitality Private Limited to launch its bakery brand Cinnabon in India. The Wadhawan Holdings will launch the new franchised business in New Delhi by July 2009. The Wadhawan group owns retail chains such as Spinach, Sabka Bazaar. It also runs fast food joints like The Tasty Tangles and Nashta Chai and fine dining restaurants like Aurus in Mumbai and Sancho´s in Delhi. Wadhawan Hospitality has plans to invest 150 Crore Indian Rupees over the next ten years to open 140 Cinnabon stores in both bakery and kiosk formats. Focus Brands has plans to launch their Carvel ice cream brand in India and is already in talks with other companies.
