Nagoya / JP. (ji) Fuji Baking Group Co. Limited is poised to raise the prices of its bread products by an average of nearly seven percent in December to cope with rising materials prices. Fuji Baking, the third-largest bread producer in Japan, will thus follow in the footsteps of industry leader Yamazaki Baking Co., which some days ago announced plans to raise its bread prices in December. Second-ranking Shikishima Baking Co. is also considering a price hike. Fuji Baking officials said to «Jiji Press» that the company has been striving to absorb the impact of rising materials procurement costs. But the company now finds it impossible to keep its bread prices unchanged as flour mills are set to raise their flour prices further next month.
