Newcastle upon Tyne / UK. (gs) British Greggs PLC, the leading bakery food-on-the-go retailer in the UK with 2,500 retail outlets throughout the country, announces plans for a new National Distribution Centre at Symmetry Park, Kettering, in partnership with Tritax Symmetry. This initiative is a key part of the growth strategy, aimed at expanding its supply chain to meet the needs of the growing number of shops.
The new centre, expected to be operational in the first half of 2027, will encompass 311’551 square feet of logistics space on a 25.1-acre plot. Designed to a BREEAM «Very Good» standard and achieving an EPC A rating, the facility will meet Net Zero Carbon in Construction requirements, aligning with Greggs’ goals.

This investment is part of the baker’s ongoing investment into its supply chain as the company continues to expand the Greggs estate from 2,500 to over 3,000 stores. The new distribution centre will enhance the ability to deliver ambient and chilled products directly to the baker’s store portfolio. Tritax is also seeking planning permission for an additional 100’000 square feet for future expansion. Symmetry Park, Kettering, spans 136 acres with outline planning permission for 2’310’000 square feet of logistics space.
