Internorga: 1’000 exhibitors from Germany and abroad

Hamburg. (hmc) The latest trends, new products and technical innovations are decisive factors for business success in the catering and food service markets. The ideas, innovations and concepts from companies in response to the current challenges, and the direction of developments in this industry, are shown at Internorga 2010, to be held at the Hamburg Fair site from 12 to 17 March. The leading trade show for the catering and food service market is a showcase for more than 1’000 exhibitors from Germany and abroad, with their innovations, trends and complete solutions in the hotel, catering, food service, bakery and confectionery sectors.

The Newcomers´ Area will be a new feature at Internorga. It is aimed at small and medium sized companies which have not previously exhibited at Internorga. The Newcomers´ Area gives first-time exhibitors an ideal opportunity to present their products to an international audience. As in the previous years, more than 100’000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad are expected to attend the fair.

Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of HMC (Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH), feels that one of the strengths of this international trade show is its great dynamism: «Internorga is characterised by ongoing development, always keeping its finger on the pulse of the industry. It gives exhibitors and trade visitors orientation, which is so vital at times of economic difficulty – it identifies trends and inspires the market with new ideas».

Ralf Hübner, Chairman of the Internorga Exhibitor Council, looks forward with confidence to the 84th Internorga: «I believe Internorga will give important stimuli to the catering and food service markets. It is the leading international trade show, the ideal presentation platform for companies. This is where they can display their innovations to an expert audience, set new trends, and make contacts both within their own sector and beyond it».

Internorga displays a wide range of high-quality exhibits that is unparalleled anywhere in the world, on about 87’000 square metres of exhibition space. It covers the whole bandwidth of the out-of-home market, in the thematic areas «Food + Beverages», «Organisation and Communication», «Technology and Environment», «Furnishings and Fittings» and «Baking and Confectionery Supplies, Shopfitting». Practically all the leading companies in the market will be there in Hamburg, and many will launch new products at Internorga.

Internorga is not only an innovation show and trend indicator. It also plays a key role as an international meeting point in the hospitality market. That is due not least to the outstanding supporting programme of trade conferences. There will be eminent speakers from Germany and abroad at the 29th International Foodservice Forum, presenting fresh ideas and innovative concepts – it is Europe´s biggest professional food service conference, with more than 1’200 participants from all parts of the world. The German Congress for Bulk Catering will attract the top experts. There is a Hospitality Forum giving expert insights, and attractive shows and competitions such as the «Chefs´ Grand Prix», the young cooks´ competition with the highest prize money in Germany.

The central position of Internorga gives great benefits – the new fair site is located at the heart of Hamburg, between the River Elbe and Lake Alster. That means savings in time and money for exhibitors and trade visitors. They benefit from the short distances, and can concentrate on the important things, such as meetings with clients, working lunches, or press interviews. CCH-Congress Center Hamburg, where the supporting conferences are held, and the main-line train station Dammtor, are right next to the trade fair site, just a few minutes´ walk from it. The travel time to the international airport is just under 30 minutes by public transport.
