(ami) According to preliminary data, during January to June period 2009, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Kazakhstan decreased by 4,1 percent compared to the index of the same period of 2008, declared the National Bank of Kazakhstan. As a reminder, earlier the bank forecasted the growth of GDP of the country in the current year at the level of zero to one percent, the Ministry of Economics – at the level of one percent. The International Monetary Fund expects for the decrease of GDP of Kazakhstan by two percent in the current year. In 2008, the GDP of the country grew by 3,2 percent (source: agrimarket.info).
