Kesko / FI. (kkc) Sales of Finland’s Kesko Group in April 2024 grew by 6.6 percent. «Sales in the building and technical trade division increased, while sales in the grocery trade division were flat year-on-year, and sales in the car trade division decreased. Sales in April were impacted by the timing of Easter and the fact that the number of delivery days was up in YOY comparison,» says Jorma Rauhala, President and CEO.
- Sales in the grocery trade division totalled EUR 510.4 million in April, up by 0.3 percent. Sales to K Group grocery stores were flat year-on-year. Sales in K-Citymarket’s home and speciality goods (non-food) decreased. Kespro’s sales increased by 4.8 percent. The number of delivery days in grocery trade was up by 2 year-on-year, while the number of delivery days for Kespro was up by 3 year-on-year.
- Sales in the building and technical trade division totalled EUR 413.5 million in April, up by 20.0 percent, or by 9.4 percent in comparable terms. The number of delivery days in April was up by 3 year-on-year in Finland and Sweden, and by 4 in Norway. The positive calendar impact on sales was approximately 14-16 percentage points. Sales in building and home improvement trade increased by 27.8 percent, or by 5.5 percent in comparable terms. Sales in technical trade increased by 12.7 percent in comparable terms. In comparable terms, sales increased by 2.5 percent in Finland and by 27.8 percent in Norway, while in Sweden sales were down by 1.9 percent. The sales figures of the Danish Davidsen have been consolidated into the figures of Kesko’s building and technical trade division from 1 February 2024 onwards.
- Sales in the car trade division totalled EUR 106.4 million in April, a decrease of 5.7 percent. Car trade sales decreased by 7.5 percent; sales for used cars and services increased. Sports trade sales increased by 6.1 percent.
Kesko Group sales in April 2024 totalled EUR 1,028.2 million, representing an increase of 6.6 percent.
