Ho Chi Minh City / VN. (kdc) Vietnamese Kinh Do Corporation opened a new 400-billion-VND-factory in southern Binh Duong Province (17,72 million EUR), the company said in a statement. Occupying nine hectares of land, the new confectionary plant also has a research and development centre and meets GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards, the latter related to food safety. Kinh Do Corporation has a network of 32 bakeries, 600 agents and 80’000 retail shops in Vietnam. The opening of the new factory also marked the 15th anniversary of Kinh Do Group, the Corporation´s parent. Starting with 125’000 EUR and 70 people in 1991, Kinh Do Group´s market capitalisation reached 300 million EUR in January 2007. Today the Group has eleven subsidiary companies, of which the most are involved in food production. Besides promoting the potentials in food production and processing activities, aiming to optimize investment capital of shareholders, Kinh Do today also jointly invests into real estate developments.
