Stockholm (SE) | Copenhagen (DK). (lg) Carsten Lyngsø Thomsen, former Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Northern and Western Europe at Lantmännen Unibake, is the new Executive Vice President and President of Lantmännen Unibake, succeeding Werner Devinck who is retiring after ten years at Lantmännen.
«I am pleased to announce that Carsten will assume this important role and that he will take a seat in the Group Management Team. Carsten has extensive experience from leading positions within the food and beverage industry, both within and outside of the Lantmännen group. I am glad that we’ve once again managed to recruit internally for a leading position. I wish Carsten great success in his new role,» says Lantmännen Group’s President and CEO Magnus Kagevik.
Carsten started his current position at Lantmännen in March 2021, coming from Toms Group, where he was CEO from 2014 to 2020. Prior to that, Carsten was Head of Lantmännen Cerealia and Managing Director at Lantmännen Schulstad for five years in total. Carsten has also held leading positions at Carlsberg, Kraft Foods DK and Coop DK.
«It is with great excitement and humbleness that I will step into the role as President of Lantmännen Unibake. I look forward to continuing the successful development of the company, together with all the great people at Lantmännen Unibake,» says Carsten L. Thomsen.
Carsten assumes the role as of October 01, 2022, reporting to Lantmännen’s Group President and CEO Magnus Kagevik, and will be part of the Lantmännen Group Management Team.
Werner Devinck is now leaving his position as President of Lantmännen Unibake, following his retirement plan. Werner joined Lantmännen in November 2012, as Managing Director for the Unibake UK Cluster, and was then appointed President of Lantmännen Unibake after a year. During the last nine years, Werner has been leading Unibake’s profitable growth journey in a very successful way, encompassing 6,000 employees in more than 20 countries.
«I would like to thank Werner Devinck for his contributions to Lantmännen. Werner’s leadership has been pivotal for the success of Lantmännen Unibake, and he is now handing over the reins of a leading international bakery company that is fully equipped to continue its growth journey ahead,» says Magnus Kagevik.
