Seoul / KR. (lg) Lotte Confectionary Co. Ltd., subsidiary of the Korean-Japanese Lotte Group, will invest 85 million USD (54,84 million EUR) in the construction of a confectionery plant in Russia. For Lotte, working the market since 1995, this will be the first manufacturing facility in Russia, the company told the Korean Herald. In this days Lotte will start its work on the new plant in Obninsk, Kaluga region. Construction is due to be completed by September 2009. Among other products the facility will manufacture Dream Pie, which is also known as Moon Cake. The company intends to further expend its production base in Russia with the construction of another plant to manufacture popular snack brands.
