Birmingham / UK. (rcp) Entrepreneur Luke Johnson has added a third pastry brand to his growing Patisserie Holdings Ltd., with a deal to acquire Baker + Spice chain in London. He plans to keep trading the five outlets under their established Baker + Spice name. Johnson´s Patisserie Holdings, which already owns the Patisserie Valerie and Druckers Vienna Patisserie brands, is backed by private equity firm Risk Capital Partners. Risk Capital Partners purchased Birmingham-based Druckers Vienna Patisserie in May 2007, combining it with their London-based business Patisserie Valerie which was acquired in September 2006. Druckers was founded in 1965 in Birmingham and has grown to 42 sites nationwide. Patisserie Valerie was established in 1926 in Soho and has grown to ten company owned sites in central London. Patisserie Holdings is the United Kongdom´s largest patisserie chain.
