Moscow / RU. (ami) Sergey Ivanov, the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, forecasts the reduction of foreign trading volumes between Russia and Ukraine in 2009 by two times compared to 2008. According to Ivanov, all industries show the decrease of trading volumes. The world financial crisis led to the decrease of common trading volumes between the countries. The trading representative office of Russia in Ukraine was founded on October 22, 1992, according to the agreement between the government of Russia and the government of Ukraine about the common establishment of trading representative offices. In 2008, volumes of foreign trading with commodities and services between Ukraine and the Russian Federation totaled 39,88 billion USD, an increase of 18,7 percent compared to 2007 (source: agrimarket.info).
