(ami) During January to July 2009, the cargo flow of the group Novorossiysk sea trading port totaled 50601,9 thousand tonnes, an increase of 8,4 percent or 3919,9 thousand tonnes compared to the shipment volumes during the same period of 2008, declared the media department of the port. At that, grain shipments increased by nearly 3,5 times (up nearly 3567,2 thousand tonnes) compared to the same period of the previous year, and reached the level of 5010,6 thousand tonnes. The share of grain cargoes in the general cargo shipment of the port also grew from 3,1 percent during the first seven months of 2008 to 9,9 percent. The shipment volumes of vegetable oils, perishable cargoes, mineral fertilizers and sugar increased by 168,2 thousand tonnes compared to January to July 2008. In the reporting period, the shipment of vegetable oils increased by 50’200 tonnes (31,9 percent) compared to January to July 2008, and totaled 207’600 tonnes (source: agrimarket.info).
