Chicago / IL. (03.17. / sbc) Schulze + Burch Biscuit Co., a leading supplier for private label and industrial baked goods in the U.S. since 1923, announced it is locating a new production facility in Searcy (Arkansas), said CEO Kevin M. Boyle. The company is locating in a 500’000-square-foot facility that was formerly home to Maytag. The facility will eventually employ approximately 250 people. Boyle: «Our growing toaster pastry and granola bar business demanded additional manufacturing capacity. Our Chicago facility did not have the available room to put in new lines». Chicago, Illinois-based Schulze and Burch Biscuit Co., produces toaster pastries, granola bars and other snacks both branded and for leading private label accounts. The company produced the first toaster pastry for General Foods in 1964 as well as the first crunchy granola bar for General Mills in 1976. They operate in a 500’000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Chicago. The company also has a research and development centre near Chicago.
