Short statement: Vaasan Group in 2009

  • In January 2010, Vaasan launched a new type of rye bread based on a unique combination of rye and wheat baking know-how. Known as «MagicRye 100%», this offers people the type of soft and light consistency typically associated with white bread – and is the biggest innovation to be seen on the bread market for years Vaasan believes. Net sales of the Fresh Bread Business Area in 2009 were approximately 235 million EUR, employees about 2’400.
  • Consumes living further afield from Vaasan´s home markets in Northern Europe are able to enjoy the fruits of the baker´s rye baking expertise through the Finn Crisp thin crisp and crisp bread products, which have become popular with health-conscious consumers in around 30 countries worldwide. Net sales of the Crisp Bread Business Area in 2009 were approximately 39 million EUR, employees about 200.
  • Vaasan Bake-Off Business Area serves retail and food service customers in Finland, Sweden, Norway, and the Baltic countries with a comprehensive offering, covering bread, coffee bread, pastries, product training, and advice. Net sales of the business area in 2009 were approximately 125 million EUR, employees about 400.
